HS wrestling competes in Day 3 of Far East Tournament

The high school wrestling team completed the third and final day of the Far East Wrestling Tournament at Kinnick on Saturday. The Knights defeated Osan 24-20 to finish fifth out of eight teams in the Division II dual meet tournament.

CAJ had only two contested matches against Osan: 135 and 141 pounds. Tai (135) lost by fall to a very strong wrestler from Osan, but Leo (141) was able to win by technical fall by shutting out his opponent 10-0. Had Leo lost, the Knights would've lost against the Cougars.

"Leo wrestled really solid and just kept getting takedown after takedown to rack up his 10 points," coach Morris Yaegashi said. "It was a very important [individual] win for the team."

CAJ ended up placing fifth place in both the individual championships as well as the dual meet championship. The Knights' season is now done.

Dual Meet Results:
Versus Osan (24-20 win)
108- Jordan wins by forfeit
115- Joe wins by forfeit
122- Peter wins by forfeit
135- Tai loses by fall
141- Leo wins by technical fall
148- Kyong wins by forfeit
