This is an auxiliary position, with work scheduled based on the school’s needs and as directed by the Facilities Manager. We welcome individuals from our community and known references who have a heart to serve and would enjoy supporting the CAJ community. =Qualifications :The successful applicant will: be a committed Christian and an active member of a church. applicant must have a valid work permit. must also posses a valid Japanese chūgata (中型) driver's license or willing to take the driver's course, paid for by CAJ the appropriate for driving the school bus. should be safe, responsible, and reliable drivers. applicant should be flexible and available to work on an as-needed basis. previous experience driving a bus or other passenger vehicles and familiarity with the local area is preferred. =Responsibilities The Bus driver transports students and staff safely, follows assigned schedules and routes, keeps the vehicle clean, and reports any vehicle problems. The driver is expected to follow all traffic laws and school safety procedures while helping provide a safe and welcoming experience for students.

Full-time vacancy from August 1, 2027 Applications close January 6, 2027, or sooner if a shortlist of suitable applicants is filled or an offer is accepted. - =Primary Purpose :The EAL Coordinator administers the school’s EAL program, K-12, and organizes the regular language testing of EAL students and the maintenance of student EAL records. The EAL Coordinator teaches secondary EAL classes as detailed below. The EAL Coordinator works with the Admissions Coordinator in the language assessment of EAL applicants. =Qualifications :The successful applicant will: be a committed Christian and an active member of a church. have an understanding of and desire to contribute to the vision and mission of Christian Academy in Japan. have a relevant bachelor’s degree. have current teaching credentials or be willing to pursue appropriate certification. have experience teaching EAL in a school setting. have native-speaker level English abilities; Japanese language and cultural understanding is an advantage. have excellent relational, interpersonal, and communication skills. have strong organizational and administrative skills, experience in relevant technology, and a record of paying careful attention to detail when managing data. be a proven team player, committed to collaborative working and willing to adapt to different styles and approaches as appropriate. be of mature disposition, known to be loyal, honest, and discreet, and to have a strong sense of community service. =Responsibilities Working under the divisional principals, recommend appropriate and effective options for the entire EAL program, K-12, on matters related to EAL curricula, benchmarks, teaching, and testing Teach one section of high school EAL to students in Grades 9-12 Teach one section of middle school EAL to students in Grades 6-8 Develop an appropriate curriculum for each EAL course, and plan and implement effective lessons appropriate to the curriculum Grade and give feedback on appropriate assignments and assessments Implement effective methods of classroom management Act as an EAL support teacher in two sections of middle school English, working alongside the primary teacher Conduct EAL testing and maintain student EAL records Organize and lead regular meetings of teachers involved in the EAL program Work well with non-EAL teachers to ensure effective support for EAL students Communicate well with students’ families Work with the Admissions Coordinator to conduct EAL evaluations of applicants Participate in school-required meetings and activities as needed Represent Christ well in all classroom and school activities =Start Date :Full-time position, with start date August 1, 2027
