Christian Academy in Japan is a Gakko Hojin (school corporation), but it is not classified as an Article 1 school under Japan's School Education Law.

Under Article 1 of the School Education Law, Japanese parents are responsible for ensuring that their children receive compulsory education during the required period, which covers Grades 1 through 9. Because CAJ is not an Article 1 school, Japanese national students enrolled in our Grades 1 to 9 program will not be considered to be fulfilling their compulsory education requirement.

Families who are considering enrolling a Japanese national at CAJ during compulsory education years are therefore encouraged to carefully consider this when planning their child's education.
