Technology Mission, Vision, and Goals

Christian Academy in Japan equips students to serve Japan and the world for Christ.
Technology Mission[edit]
To equip students to serve Japan and the world for Christ by supporting, advancing, and enhancing learning and productivity through the use of computer information technology.
Technology Vision[edit]
Students and staff consistently and seamlessly using computer information technology, resulting in increased learning and productivity.
Technology Goals[edit]
Christian Academy in Japan desires that students and staff use computer information technology to support, advance, and enhance their learning and productivity. To accomplish this, we are working to achieve the following 4 goals:
1. Integration into curriculum: Teachers will implement a curriculum into which technology is seamlessly integrated.
- Action steps:
- Establish standards and learning targets for K-12.
- Provide technology integration consulting to help teachers implement technology standards and learning targets across the curriculum.
- Develop a technology curriculum plan to guide integration.
2. Training and professional development: Staff will consistently and seamlessly use technology for their own productivity and learning.
- Action steps:
- Provide individual training in, for example, productivity software (Google Drive, Google Classroom, Learner Build, GoGuardian, etc.) and integration practices.
- Provide group training such as "Tech Tuesdays."
- Encourage participation in external training and professional development opportunities.
3. Access: All teachers and students will have sufficient and appropriate access to computers and other technologies.
- Action steps:
- Supply a laptop for the use of staff.
- Provide a digital device (iPad for Elementary, Chromebook for MS and HS) for student use.
- Expand digital tools checkout in the library.
- Provide digital classrooms.
- Provide, expand, and upgrade wireless access throughout the campus.
- Review all computer information technology policies.
- Explore parent education opportunities.
- Provide online and database systems.
4. Service and support: All teachers and students will receive service and support to insure continuous availability of computer information technology
- Action steps:
- Provide "technology request" email service and respond to requests.
- Provide phone help desk and respond to requests.
- Provide help desk to students throughout the day and after school.
