Section 2 Executive Limitations

Overview


OVERVIEW OF SECTION 2: Executive Limitations

The head of school shall not cause nor allow any practice, activity, decision, or organizational circumstance that is either unlawful, imprudent, or in violation of commonly accepted business and professional ethics, or in violation of the act of endowment, constitution, bylaws, or school philosophy of Christian Academy in Japan.

2.1 The head of school shall not permit the board to be uninformed or unsupported in its work.

2.2 On behalf of the board, the head of school shall contract staff qualified and committed to carry out the mission of CAJ, and shall not cause or allow current or prospective paid staff and/or volunteers to be treated in a manner which is unbiblical, unjust, unlawful, unsafe, undignified, or lacking appropriate confidentiality.

2.3 The head of school shall not fail to ensure that enrolling students meet the school's admission regulations; shall not fail to ensure they are educated according to the school's stated philosophy; and shall not cause or allow conditions, procedures, or decisions which are unbiblical, unsafe, undignified, unnecessarily intrusive, or which fail to provide appropriate confidentiality.

2.4 The head of school shall not fail to ensure that the programs and services provided by Christian Academy in Japan meet or exceed student objectives and accreditation standards and are consistent with the philosophy of Christian Academy in Japan.

2.5 In order to protect the board from sudden loss of head of school services, the head of school shall not fail to designate and inform the board of several individuals who will be familiar with board and school administrative issues and procedures.

2.6 Financial planning for any fiscal year shall not deviate materially from the board’s ends priorities, risk fiscal jeopardy, or fail to show a generally acceptable level of foresight.

2.7 With respect to the actual, ongoing financial condition and activities, the head of school shall not cause or allow the development of fiscal jeopardy or a material deviation of actual expenditures from board priorities established in ends policies.

2.8 The head of school shall not allow school assets to be unprotected, inadequately maintained, or unnecessarily risked.

2.9 With respect to employment, compensation, and benefits to employees, consultants, contract workers, and volunteers, the head of school shall not cause or allow jeopardy to fiscal integrity or Christian testimony.

2.10 The head of school shall not allow fund-raising or promotion that is unbiblical, unethical, insufficient to meet the pre-agreed needs, or not aligned with accomplishing the ends of Christian Academy in Japan.
