Ingredients
2 1/2 tsp yeast
1 1/3 cups water
2 Tbsp margarine
1 1/2 Tbsp sugar
3/4 tsp salt
4 cups all-purpose flour
Directions
After dough is made in bread maker, cut dough into short strips, roll into ropes and shape into pretzels. Cover and let rise on well greased baking sheet for about 45 minutes. In a cast iron or other non-aluminum pan, bring 4 cups water and 1 1/2 Tbsp baking soda almost to a boil. Gently lower (by hand or slotted spoon) pretzels into water for about 1 minute, turning once. Do not let water come to a full boil. Remove pretzels and return to greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake in a preheated 475 ̊F oven for about 10 or 12 minutes.
