Baked Brown Bread

Ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup molasses
1/4 cup melted butter or margarine
1/2 cup raisins
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 ̊F. Grease one 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" loaf pan. In a bowl, sift together flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. In another bowl mix together egg, buttermilk, molasses, and melted butter. Add liquid mixture to dry ingredients and stir just until moistened. Stir in raisins. Pour into pan and bake 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top springs back to touch.

- If you don't have buttermilk use 1 cup milk with 1 Tbsp vinegar or lemon juice added.
