The varsity volleyball team started its Far East Tournament at Camp Humphreys in South Korea on Thursday with pool play. The Knights lost 2-1 (25-9, 19-25, 21-25) to MC Perry, then defeated Daegu 2-0 (25-10, 25-18).
Coach Tanya Hall commented on the two games:
"Our serving was great in the first set of MC Perry, which allowed us to win 25-9. However, after that we couldn't get our serves in and started to make serve receiving errors. That put us in a hole we couldn't get out of.
For the Daegu game, our serves were great, and we moved well on defense, which gave us a chance to hit a lot. Kachel did a great job finding the open spots and dropping the ball there."
The Knights begin bracket play in the quarterfinals on Friday at noon with a game against ISSH.
