The JV volleyball team lost 2-1 (25-27, 25-21, 7-15) to Kinnick on Tuesday. The defeat evened the Knights' record out at 1-1.
Coach Haruka Akashi commented on the team's strong points from the game:
"We started the game really well. We were up by a couple points and the girls were moving well," Akashi said. "After losing the first set, we were able to come back very well in the second set. The girls played very well and worked hard to earn those points. They were able to adjust a bit better and prepare for the free balls and tips, because the Kinnick players were not hitting the ball as much."
However, Akashi noted that the team needs improvement on serving consistency, receiving serves better and moving to the ball more aggressively. She also added that a key factor for her team is whether it chooses to learn from mistakes instead of dwelling on them.
CAJ plays next at Yokota this Thursday.
